Himachal Pradesh is home to many beautiful places. The state has a diverse landscape with hills, meadows, forests, and rivers. The famous hill stations of Shimla, Manali, and Dharamshala are the top tourist destinations in Himachal Pradesh. All these places have something special to offer to people who wish to relax their minds and body for some time away from their busy lives back home. Shimla is famous for its historic buildings like Vice Regal Lodge (now known as Governor’s House) which was used as a summer residence by British Viceroys during colonial times. The Naggar village, which lies in the Kullu valley, is famous for its beautiful and spectacular cave. The Naggar Village lies at an altitude of 2450 meters above sea level. The painting inside the cave is said to be about 200 years old. Paintings on the wall of this cave depict religious and cultural stories. Also found here, is a sculpture of Lord Buddha in a sitting position with an umbrella over his head. It shows Gandhara’s style of artwork.
